SHERMAN RESERVOIR SHRUB PROJECT
Enhancing Habitat & Wildlife Movement
The Big Game Conservation Association partnered with the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission to support a habitat improvement project at Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area.
Nebraska Game & Parks identified an opportunity to enhance wildlife habitat through the strategic planting of trees and shrubs.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The project was designed to create:
• Deer travel corridors
• Protective bedding areas
• Improved habitat structure

These enhancements help provide wildlife with cover, security, and more natural movement patterns.
WILDLIFE BENEFITS
While primarily aimed at supporting deer populations, the project also benefits:
• Wild turkey
• Upland game species
• Small game and non-game wildlife

This type of habitat improvement strengthens ecosystem diversity and overall wildlife health.
