
PAWNEE STATE RECREATION AREA ACCESSIBLE HUNTING BLIND
Expanding Access to Nebraska’s Outdoors
In the spring of 2020, the Big Game Conservation Association – Lincoln Branch donated a Lazy Man Stands fiberglass hunting blind to Pawnee State Recreation Area.

To ensure maximum usability, members also constructed a custom base system designed to enhance accessibility and flexibility.


ACCESSIBILITY & DESIGN FEATURES
• Wheelchair-accessible ramp
• Stable, elevated platform
• Moveable base for adaptive placement
• Durable, weather-resistant construction

This design allows hunters with mobility challenges to safely and comfortably participate in Nebraska’s hunting seasons.
SEASONAL USE
The blind supports:
• Spring turkey season
• Deer archery season
• Deer muzzleloader season
​
Placement may be adjusted periodically to align with wildlife activity and improve hunter success.
PUBLIC ACCESS
The blind is generally available to the public:
• May be reserved when applicable
• Open on a first-come basis when unreserved
