PAWNEE STATE RECREATION AREA ACCESSIBLE HUNTING BLIND

Expanding Access to Nebraska’s Outdoors

In the spring of 2020, the Big Game Conservation Association – Lincoln Branch donated a Lazy Man Stands fiberglass hunting blind to Pawnee State Recreation Area.

To ensure maximum usability, members also constructed a custom base system designed to enhance accessibility and flexibility.

ACCESSIBILITY & DESIGN FEATURES

• Wheelchair-accessible ramp
• Stable, elevated platform
• Moveable base for adaptive placement
• Durable, weather-resistant construction

This design allows hunters with mobility challenges to safely and comfortably participate in Nebraska’s hunting seasons.

SEASONAL USE

The blind supports:

• Spring turkey season
• Deer archery season
• Deer muzzleloader season

Placement may be adjusted periodically to align with wildlife activity and improve hunter success.

PUBLIC ACCESS

The blind is generally available to the public:

• May be reserved when applicable
• Open on a first-come basis when unreserved

Hunters are encouraged to check Pawnee SRA’s official resources for current availability and location details.
