
CONESTOGA STATE RECREATION AREA FOOD PLOT PROJECT
Enhancing Wildlife Habitat Near Lincoln
In late summer 2019, the Big Game Conservation Association – Lincoln Branch completed habitat improvements at Conestoga State Recreation Area.
Members established two food plots designed to support local wildlife and improve habitat quality within this heavily utilized public access area.




FOOD PLOT DETAILS
East Plot — 1.8 Acres
• Planted with Kaup Forage & Turf Antler Mix
• Located approximately ½ mile from the gate
• Maintained through mowing in 2020 following strong regrowth
West Plot — 1.1 Acres
• Originally planted in 2019
• Replanted in 2020 following limited growth
• Seeded with a blend of Antler Mix and Trail Mix
PROGRAM IMPACT
Both plots have demonstrated:
• Strong wildlife utilization
• Visible signs of deer activity
• Positive feedback from public land users

These improvements provide valuable forage resources while enhancing habitat diversity within the recreation area.
