CHRIS EDWARDS
PRESIDENT
Chris Edwards was raised in Stratton, Nebraska. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for more than 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.
Throughout his military career, Chris held a wide range of leadership and specialized assignments, including:
• Military Police with K-9 responsibilities
• Expeditionary Security Forces
• Enlisted Recruiter
• Medical Officer Programs Recruiter
• Command Financial Specialist
• Trainer
Chris currently serves as President of the Big Game Conservation Association, is the past President of Big Red Whitetails, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Nebraska Sportsmen’s Foundation.

Chris is an active member of numerous conservation and outdoor organizations, including:

Driven by his passion for wildlife and habitat management, Chris founded Big Red Outdoors in October 2009. The organization has grown to over 50 members and manages approximately 6,500 acres of private hunting land across Nebraska.

To improve member coordination and property management, Chris collaborated with a programming firm to develop an online reservation system, enhancing both efficiency and responsible land use.
LEADERSHIP & VISION
Chris’s work with Big Red Outdoors helped deepen his focus on habitat improvement and wildlife management. His military career instilled a strong work ethic, disciplined leadership approach, and unwavering commitment to mission accomplishment.
In addition to his conservation efforts, Chris founded and operates the Nebraska Deer and Game Expo, where BGCA proudly exhibits each January.
